well, its saturday night, and i am sitting at the computer writing this livejournal whilst i burn my dad dvds of the slideshow he made for the handball carnival at easter. YES, handball. i have spent the last...10hrs or so with small children whom i babysat whilst our parents all went out and played golf and drank and ate nice food. i got to see kicking and screaming (not a bad yarn, i'll give you that) and eat pizza and sit and watch while they played the sims. totally blew my budget - i had $90 for three movie tickets and food supplies for the afternoon, and i managed to spend all of it, bar like, $10 in coinage. its all justified mind you, but sheeshkebab, how did that happen?? it just goes to show you.
now, seeing as one sarah gregg is having a 'stay-at-home' weekend and i am as well, i have a theory that perhaps everyone is. i mean, i personally have about a thousand assignments to start and to finish, all of which are due next week, and have no other plans for the rest of my weekend but to do that. and today babysat, cleaned and played a bit of netball...
which brings me to my next point - a 'hypothetical' situation. i pose this question to you -
who's side would you be taking if....
ok, here it is. you are at some sort of elite level sporting activity, (let's just say...you're an SAC Open Netball team, playing at Sacred Heart on a Saturday morning, ok? just like, hypothetically). and you and your teammates are asked to lend a player to another, shall we say, 'SAC' team, composed of let's say, 'Yr12's', who haven't got enough players to make up a team. did i mention that this particular hypothetical team is the only team to have beaten you this season, the only thing standing between you and the sweet taste of victory at the championship playoffs?? so, do you lend the players, because of school spirit and general humanitarianism? or don't you, at the risk of a)- disrupting your own team's game and b)- perhaps giving them a better chance at winning and ulitmately sacrificing your chances at being the ultimate winners?? bearing in mind that your team are ALL there, whilst this team has only five players who've turned up for the match.
just hypathetically, what do you think??
so, in the recent light of this situation, i did play a quarter with lea for that team, and was ever so slightly scared. then we had a quarter off, then went back on. my back's still giving me some trouble, and was just starting to twinge quite a lot when time was called for the end of the third quarter, and the coach (who happens to be my father) did not put me back on. i was angry, as this game was REALLY tense and i don't know why! but i was dead pumped to go back out. in hindsight of course, this was probably a good call, as it really still hasn't fully healed.
don't ya hate it when your parents are right!!!
until a later date!!
ps - notice, today my mood is 'quixotic'. have no idea what that word means as i have never come across it before, but judging by the emoticon, i have come to all sorts of conclusions...

quixotic
Quixotic defined as... caught up in the romance of noble deeds and the pursuit of unreachable goals; idealistic without a regard to practicality. Doesn't sound like you at all liz?! HA. Boo.
